I don´t care about my period at all. I rarely think about it, when it comes it comes, I don´t even know if it´s regular or not as I don´t watch the dates. i didn´t notice much change in mood.

Im so jealous!!! I have to make sure I have nothing important on at the same time. In fact im flying from Sydney to Paris in Oct (like 25 hours flying) and I have to plan my ticket booking around it otherwise i'll be stuck on a plane in agony! I wish I didn't notice like you :)

I just got it today. This thread called for it :D.

Women who live together or in close proximity of one another get their periods together. That has got to be some sort of defense mechanism for women. I bet they could send an army of menstruating women to war and we'd win! It would be like the 300 Spartans all over again only more pissed off. ::p: Maybe all the women on this thread will get their periods together too! lol

i havent been diagnosed but im pretty sure i have pmdd. ive had pms but ive noticed a big difference on how severe its gotten for the past year. its really hard for me to function for like 2 weeks. the pain i can handle, but its the emotional part that is just horrible. and it does affect the people around me, especially my bf who has to put up with my crap for 2 weeks. its really exhausting and just terrible. i should probably take meds but i cant afford it. i feel like it lasts even longer than 2 weeks somtimes. 2 weeks of hell and then it slowly fades away for another week. i dont know. i just hate it, but its normal for me. i remember my pms stopped for months and it worried me... i wasnt eating good and had lost a lot of weight. just these past 2 months ive been getting my pms or pmdd and i hate it but LOVE IT! im back to "normal".

I HAZ QUESTION!

how do you girls feel about taking pills or shots or whatever that lets you have your period only a few times a year? I think its weird and not natural. It would be nice to not get your period I guess, but its not normal. Maybe it is safe but i really dont want to mess with the natural cycle no matter how horrible it is. Id rather have it then not.

im on the contaceptive injection atm, and its one of the best things ive ever done. you have to stop it after a few years to give your body a break but after 6 months to a year you can start again. no periods, no pain :) but its not for everyone xx

What about trying to drink a lot of water? Also excercise, eating natural food (fruits, vegetables, nuts etc.). No smoking, caffeine, sugar...And some food supplements.

I also wonder, if it´s not caused by the birth control pill because nearly every woman today takes it (and nearly every woman today has pms).

i totally feel that the cycle changes my moods; there are certain times in the month where i am feeling pretty good, and then it just plumits.

Ohhh, yes. Right when it's about to/starting to come full force I just loose it. Last time I spent an hour pounding my head into the floor crying out puddles (literally) of tears and trying to decide whether to slit my wrist or call 911, apparently all because my psychiatrist wanted me to take 1/4 of a pill every other day for a week and I thought the world was ending.

I keep a blog and have noticed a pattern where I always go into crisis at that time of month. I am a horrible mess anyways but yes, easily ten times worse then.

I've got a little bit of the crampy end of things but I don't notice a temperament change. I just hate the process because it makes it so I am constantly worried about staying clean at work and such.

I get totally emotional around that time. For about 5 days in a month I'm severly depressed and angry (my poor family...sometimes, I admit, it can be fun) and the rest of the month I'm happy as a clam!

I don't know why this is a "Girl's Only" thread. I'm a guy and I get emotional once a month, in fact, I get emotional more than once a month.

hmmm..thats true...although if your getting emotional because of your period you should probably see a doctor. Especially if your getting it more than once a month...that really is unusual in a man :D

I used to think there was a correlation between my moods and my periods, but now I don't know so much. I do go up and down throughout the month. I can be in a total euphoria and then drop down to such a horrible depression. And my anxiety gets much worse, I panic a lot and start arguments about the smallest things. I feel very affected and emotional..

I don't think it's bullshit that our hormones affect our moods. Every month our bodies build up and produce certain hormones, and when it comes to that time of the month.. It all drops off eventually and we get back to where we started a month ago. And slowly again the hormones are built up.

Also, I think those pills and patches and needles are bad news. It's not good to mess with your body with medication like that. I don't like anti-depressants either.

Right now I'm taking this natural herbal remedy called "FemMED - Hormonal Balance" I only started it about 1.5 weeks ago.. or a week.. So I don't know yet if it will help, but in a months times I'll be able to let you guys know how it worked.

I don't know if it's just my natural mood flow, but I've been feeling a lot more at ease lately. A lot more "okay" with things. And a lot more stable.. It might be the herbals! but we have yet to see! ::p:

Everything always seems worse when I'm on my period. I don't think I have any really drastic changes in my mood though.. maybe I'm just chronically depressed?

I don't really get all that emotional.

A warning about the pill (probably the same with the patch and injections), after you get off it really messes up your cycle. :)
