Gamers thread

GTA Online sucked me back in. I've made well over one-and-a-half million with the new import/export missions.

You're supposed to do them in a public server where everyone else is incentivized to get in your way. Rockstar for some ungodly reason thought that this would be a good idea in a game type that is already EXTREMELY obtuse and hard to earn money in.

But as it turns out, if you unplug for about 5 seconds you're separated from everyone else, leaving you the only person in a public server. Now you can collect/sell the cars in peace, for which you can catch up to eighty-thousand a piece.

Part 2: I don't know why I find this interesting, there must be something wrong with me.

Everyone knows the cities in Pokemon R/B/Y are based off of real cities in Japan but just like my last post in this thread I got curious again and dug a little deeper just for the fun of it.
Pallet Town = Machida, Tokyo, Japan
Viridian City = Hakone Town, Ashigarashimo District, Japan

I looked up on Google maps that these cities in the real world are 52.5 kilometers (32.621 miles) from one City Hall to the other (I had to think of some reference point for both cities).
Just for the sake of argument the patch of grass right outside Professor Oak's laboratory door can correspond to City Hall for Pallet Town and the patch of grass where the background music changes to the Viridian City theme can correspond to that cities' City Hall too.

So I played Pokemon Red again and took the fastest possible route to Viridian City and counted my number of steps...it's 70 steps until the background music changes to the Viridian City theme....so 32.621 miles divided by 70 is 0.466 miles (0.749 km). If I were traveling 32 and a half miles from one city to the next and it took me 70 steps to get there I would be traveling almost half a mile per step assuming my calculations are on point....hmm.

Picked up Shadows of Mordor in the Steam Sale. What a game!

Iv been looking into this game and it seems really good. seems mainly combat-based though...but i haven't played it yet.

I kind of wish there was an open world lord of the rings game kind of like dragon age inquisition where you could play as different characters/ go on different quests and whatnot ...but also side-quests like pulling pranks around the shire as merry and pippin and also growing herbs in Sam's garden to craft potions and tonics....or maybe just wander the countryside of middle earth looking for hidden caves and lost treasure/weapons

That sounds like LOTRO

You want to know how I got these scars?
That sounds like LOTRO

LOTRO was a dismal effort. It baffles me as to why someone like Bethesda doesn't fork out the money for the rights and make an open world LOTR game (forget the trash that is LOTRO). Something like Sky Rim, an open world full of quests, random encounters, chance meetings with other main characters and of course the main quest lines.

My god.. I'd live in that world for months.. :perfect:

One of my favorite lines from a game that I actually use in RL now...

'Let me guess, someone stole your sweet roll'...

xD

So I recently found Star Wars Battlefront 2 for PS2 and was slaying clones as Darth Maul xD. Also I played some PS1 today, played some Crash Team Racing and I had a blast. I get so much excitement out of old games that I can't seem to get from games of this generation. Don't get me wrong a lot of today's games are amazing they just don't feel as fun as older games though. Plus it makes me feel like I'm a kid again and I love that feeling and all the memories being brought back!

Crash team racing! I loved that game too! I had all of the secret passageways on the track memorized and I always played as the tiger cub :) NaughtyDog studios is coming out with a new Crash Bandicoot game for PS4 soon but its not a racing game though.

Sadly I wish I didn't play a lot of sports either but the PS4 does not have any game that combines good storytelling or turn based combat with multiplayer online.

What kind of games do you like?
All of grand theft auto, open sandbox games, + Sports/racing :D :D
The closest the PS4 gets to mmorpg without the "mmo" is Final Fantasy? I don't know I could be wrong. A game like Pokemon but meant for adults on the PS4 somehow would be nice.

There are lots of sandbox games like Fallout 4, Shadow Of Mordor, Far Cry Primal are just some examples off the top of my head. Also I think the new Final Fantasy looks pretty good and I've never been a fan of that series.
