If comfort only adds up to your anxiety, how the hell playing video games gonna help you in any way. @BlackPuma I will not even dwell into this whole, everything is meaningless, ohh it has no point, ***** attitude. Go tell that to children in Africa. I would even say that many guys get addicted to games and that develops some sort of anxiety because all they want to do is play games.
With all due respect, let's take a step back and calm down - and let's not use the incredible suffering of others as loaded arguments as leverage, this is a discussion about gaming.
I think we're having a misunderstand about what I meant by that statement. When I say 'everything is a waste of time' I mean that nothing has an objective value, merely a subjective value, bestowed by individuals. I'm not suggesting we should stop caring either, I'm suggesting the exact opposite.
If you as an individual think gaming is a waste of time, I'm not going to contest that as that is your opinion. However, you seem to suggest that gaming is an inherent waste of time, and inherently damaging for everyone across the board. That's a generalization and incredibly demonizing - not to mention incorrect. There are millions upon millions of perfectly sane and healthy adults with jobs who play games. Those that become addicted are the exception.
And if someone actively uses games purely as a means to avoid improving their social phobia or any other affliction, which I agree is bad, it's the fault of the user not the media they're doing it with. Nobody, not even social phobics, get to just defer responsibility like that when it concerns recreational activities they partake in per their own agency.
