hi all,

havent been on here for ages but i have just gone back on facebook for the first time in about 3 years and its making me anxious. I need some advice.

Basically I set my facebook up in the first year of UNI, I made loads of friends and it was great. Then in 3rd year my social phobia for some reason became full blown and I drifted from my friends and became more isolated. mainly because my social phobia caused me to shut down and they began to pick on me. I know they did not understand what I was going through but I could not tell them and it just got worse and worse.
After Uni I did not contact them or go on facebook for fear of reading what they would say about me and the few years after Uni I didnt really make any friends or have any life.
I recently started a new job and eventually met some people to socialise with. They have been encouraging me to go on facebook after i told them that I havent been on for years.
I have just added them and it will be clear that I havent been on for years which is fine but I am worried that when I start using it regularly that they will see that I dont talk to anyone else bar them on there and they will realise I dont have any other friends.

Should I delete my facebook account? or do you think I am worrying over nothing?

Not sure but can't you change settings somewhere that other people don't get to see it when you reply to another persons status/profile/photo? It would be helpfull for you... Besides that I don't believe people will check your page just to see if there are any other people replying to you. Facebook is an easy way to get in touch with old friends and people you have known. Its really simple to send them a message that you havn't used facebook in a long time and you saw them in your friendlist and wondered where they were up to. If they dont reply back, so be it. If they do its a nice oppertunaty to might get in touch again.
