ETS Post-Operative Complications, 26 yr old female

Hello Everyone!
I never thought of getting online and talking to others with hyperhidrosis but here I am. I am a 26 year old, otherwise healthy female. I have had hyperhidrosis since I was a baby, both on my hands and feet (palmar, plantar). It was so bad that it dripped down my arms while playing violin, ruined homework I was working on, and made me so horrified of my body that I hated myself most of my life. I tried all sorts of topical treatments on my hands but nothing worked. In Jr. High, I had approximately 35 botox shots in each of my hands (the lidocaine didn't work... ouch). That definitely did not work and just left me with huge bruises covering my hands.
When I came back from my first year of college, I decided to have the surgery. After a huge amount of paperwork, etc. I got rejected from the specialist because I had Kaiser Permanente and was told to use a surgeon from Kaiser. Little did I know that this surgeon had never done the surgery. This has nothing to do with hyperhidrosis, but when I woke up from the surgery, my nurses hadn't turned on the morphine machine and I woke up screaming and in the WORST pain of my entire life. After about 10 minutes of screaming at the top of my lungs and my mother yelling at the nurse who said I was faking, the nurse came to me and said oops, I guess the machine was unplugged. Ughhhhh...
Anyway, after recovering from surgery, I started noticing the side effects. While my hands don't drip sweat anymore, I have some weird side effects which include: I sweat only out of one side of my face (completely down the middle!), I have a horrible time regulating my body temperature, and sweat a huge amount from my back (compensatory sweating). At least one time a day, I have what feels like a fever, sweating all over my body (I will completely drench 2-3 shirts when this is happening), and getting chills. Sometimes I take my temp and it will be 102-103F. When I work out, only my left side of my face gets wet and sweaty, while the right side looks totally normal and doesn't sweat at all! It's super weird.
A year after the surgery, I went under a few mini-surgeries (I forgot what they called them) where they shot fluid into my sympathetic nerves with long needles through the front of my neck. This was suppose to help with the compensatory sweating but didn't help at all.
Has anyone had any of these things happen to them, in particular, the half face-sweating and the sweating fevers? Let me know! I'm new to this community and am interested in others' experiences!

I don't recall anyone describing some of the after effects you have experienced. Most ETS patients experience compensatory sweating some being worse than others. Plenty of ETS related back post discussions along with Glycopyrrolate discussions. Oral Glycopyrrolate may help alleviate some of your sweating.

Welcome to the forum Daisy! You've been through a lot! I never had surgery but I've heard that there are complications. Hopefully though, it's better than the sweating you had before.
