I used to drink 1-3 a day, specifically monster energy drink. Havent in a few months, that drink was literally killing me and led to most of my problems that I still have. but now I have the urge to drink another.

has anyone had this kind of addiction?

I wasn't really addicted to them, but I used 1-2 a day at least 4 days out of the week when I was attempting college. Mostly Monster.

Those drinks are poo. They contain caffeine and sugar which will raise your anxiety by 60.6 %.......I dont get it why people drink those.

I used to drink a 4 pack of redbull or 2 of those HUGE monster cans, the ones that are twice the size of a regular monster, during my half hour lunch break at work. It never affected my anxiety. I had such a tolerance for it after a while that I barely felt any effect, so I decided to give up energy drinks, along with all other carbonated drinks. Nowadays the only beverages I drink are water, milk, or unsweetened iced tea. I confess I will still order a redbull on the extremely rare occasion (maybe once a year if that) that I find myself in a bar, only because I'm not gonna ask a bartender for a glass of milk.::eek::

I'm hooked on monster drinks, at one point I was drinking 4 a day. I'm trying to cut down, such as replacing monster with water when im on my ps3 (main time when I drink them), and only having a can before/after I play football on Fridays.

Speaking about ps3, my username on there is monster_rippa. Go figure! lol

Forgot to say - Try sugar free variations such as monsters absolutely zero drink. The sugar content in the original is horrific, and the zero tastes pretty good too

Some sugar replacements can be even worse health-wise, so be careful and get informed

I stay away from energy drinks or sodas or anything such - only drink cocoa (with milk and real cocoa powder, no sugar) for slight caffeine buzz (3 a day can make me sleepless too so huh, gotta be careful with these things even), I stay away from store-bought ice teas too (they can have sugar/artificial sweeteners and additives too)
I'd probably stay away from Gatorade or such too... Would prefer DIY lemonade or tea or shakes or such? (Be careful, too much vitamin C/lemon can make one sleepless too... I think you mentioned insomnia in another thread..)

I found it's important to eat when/before being hungry... and stay away from sugar/sweet stuff... Then one doesn't get compelled to 'get a quick fix of energy'...

When do you get this 'urge' to drink it? Maybe you could figure out ways to prevent this 'urge'?

I only knew a few people who drank red bull or red bull+vodka and they didn't seem very healthy!!

Everything in excess is bad.
Maybe you should eat healthier. Or at least try it. Perhaps that addiction, as you call it, is a lack of nutrients.
