I went to this new indoor rock climbing/bouldering place the other day, and they gave me a waiver form which required me to list an 'emergency contact', and I just stood there stymied (holding up the line) because I had no idea who to list.
Ordinarily, I would put my girlfriend or one of my parents (probably mother) as a contact, but I'm single and my parents don't even live in the same country as me!
It's a shame I can't think of a single close enough friend to comfortably list as my emergency contact...
Eventually, I picked someone, but I still worry that if they end up calling her to tell her that I got hurt that she'll think...doesn't he have any closer friends to list?! Am I really his closest friend?!? (after, hopefully, making sure I'm ok!)
Has anyone else had a hard time with that/can relate?
