Don't you just hate it when you mean to say 'bless you' but wait too long and...

I don't really like saying "bless you" (it bugs me for some irrational reason), but I tend to feel guilty if I don't say it, because then I feel like the person is left wondering why I refused to consecrate their sneeze.

I'm widely acclaimed for my delayed and rather awkward bless you antics. :D

: bless you

: did I sneeze just now?

: nope

Wow, I did not know other people had a problem with this too!
By the time I have weighed up the pros and cons of saying it to any particular person, it's too late and would seem strange.

Right?

My brother was sneezing and sneezing and left the room. And then when he was readying himself in the bathroom down the hall, (with the door open, mind you, so we are capable of holding conversation if wanted) he sneezes and I don't say anything because I don't know, it didn't seem 'appropriate'. And then I think, 'Well, obviously he knows I can hear him.' And feel guitly for not saying it, and by the time I want to say it, it's too long of a wait to say it without looking weird.

That's when I remember how annoying this habit is. I ALWAYS do that too.
