what do u reckon?

i think it may as people may be more nice toward you and possibly overlook the anxiousness of a beautiful person

then again good looks draw the eyes and increased attention can increase self consciousness
hmm.....

hell yes it does.

I would do anything to go back to when I was 9-10 years old and take a testosterone supplement to improve me looks. They say that good looks correlate with hormone levels.

I think that my CONSTANT bullying and lack of assertiveness (which studies have shown, lower testosterone in the victim) caused my ugliness.

It doesn't matter what you look like. There is no correlation between anxiety disorders (or anxiety in general) and looks.

If you're shy because of your looks, than it's very possible that looks could of made a difference.

One other note...anti-depressants causes hormone levels to drop, which can affect the way your face forms.

I think you answered your question yourself.

I don't think looks make any difference to your SA. People might treat you different if you are 'good looking' I won't deny that but if you have SA you have SA. Ultimately it is what YOU think and how YOU treat yourself that makes it difficult or easy. Good looking ppl who have SA have SA no different to you.

I know from experience that looks are not the cause or solution to SA. I've been fat most of my life but slowly, from 11 to 17, managed to become average size. Even then when I was average build I still believed I was fat! People told me that I wasn't and I didn't believe them until I put weight back on and looked back at photos.

I do think looks get you more attention however, I got more girls interested in me then, well actually that was the only time in my life I've had girls interested in me! more than 2 at a time too :p. But if you have SA and don't know how to handle this attention, what do you do???

So looks are good for getting a bf or gf, but SA is the same for everyone irrelevant of looks.

What's the point of good looks if you can't go out to flaunt it? S phobia disables people regardless of looks.

It might for some people...and then other people simply might not believe they are beautiful, no matter how often they are told..

He probably meant "sympathetic" as in the sympathetic nervous system, which becomes more active during times of stress.

Ok, this would be OT :

Yes, it can become more active because of stress, but i think that (in my case) people could be born with something wrong in it. My grandma, my father are enormous sweaters + they have overheat issuses (These are two unrelated consequences of such brain). Only difference is that i felt into anxiety/depression as a result of that state (mainly i think of overheat because it is hardly bearable to me) , over sweathing maybe comes as a result of anxiety, though i also sweat from my childhood so i dont really know. I was extremely happy child, so i guess it is totally genetic.

I suspect that I, too, overheat.

Well it definitely makes life easier, wouldn't affect anxiety though which is all mental.
