does anyone feel they are destined to be something great

i'm really good at website design, i don;t know how. Two years at college and nobody could teach me anything because i already knew it all, in fact i ended up teaching them. Most times they just give me the assignemtns and i got on with in and no teachers even bothered trying to help me because they knew i did not need it.

Nobody has ever taught web design to me, so i don;t know how i became so good but i am better than the professionals who earn millions in this industry, and that is actually quoting other people who know what they are talking about.

But if someone asks me how to do something i can't explain it to them, the words just don;t come out. I know exactly what to do but i just cant find the way of telling it so i ended up doing it for them.

I used to think this when I was younger, but not any more. These days I view myself as having a lot of potential rather than greatness. Potential which hopefully one day (fingers crossed :wink: ), will be fulfilled.

I know I could, but am I destined to be? No, I don't think so. Right now I'm trying to be happy, and not to be 'special'.

When I say that I could, I think that anyone can. It all comes down to determination in the end.

Being "Great" is usually only defined in the light of the whole communal society. That is, the average thing people consider great is biased with the thoughts of many millions. War heroes for example. It's rather skin deep at best and imposed by others.

To acheive something brilliant, great, is achievable by anyone anywhere. The ability to see and define greatness is not so widespread. The question to ask is do you want to be proven as great in others eyes, become a champion of society? Or to be great in your own and overcome honest problems in your life? It should be noted that one is founded on the uncertainty of people and the everchanging ways of communal belief, the other is founded in the heart and everlasting.

It depends what you mean my great. If great means being rich or famous then I don't want it so I am certainly not destined to be something great in that sense. I do however, think I am destined to be what I want to be; a friend, a wife, a mother and a keyboard teacher. That is my dream life. I can't imagine my future any other way and I think it's probably best if I don't.

I've always wanted to be a doctor who travels the world. My grades are consistently high enough that I believe that dream could be a realization. Even though I am lonely and loveless (and I believe that will never change), I always dream that by saving a life, and consequently lives, something will change me mentally so I will no longer be depressed- some kind of unparalleled feeling of having done/doing something for the world, a euphoria, a religious or spiritual change that will make me forever happy. I don't expect to get famous or even thanks from anyone though, but, it will sure be nice

I grew up in an Evangelical family and they have always told me that I am destined to do something great. Unfortunately, since I have severe anxiety I tend to think that instead of doing something great I am always doing things wrong and that God is going to punish me somehow. Thankfully I have removed myself from all organized religion and it has helped me to not freak out so much. Since I already have trouble worrying about the future believing that I am destined for greatness only adds to the stress. Just my 2 cents.
