Do you think too much salt causes HH?

So, I have bad HH on my hands and feet and sometimes pits (usually when I'm super nervous). I've noticed that my hands and feet sweat less before I've eaten something. After I have dinner or eat anything they turn into faucets for the rest of the day.

I know the American diet has tons of salt in it (maybe too much). Do you think too much salt causes sweating?

Too much of anything isn't good for you. I noticed that when eating I sweat less. Everyones body is different. Some people might be able to handle the salt, others probably can't. I know if I eat a lot of salty things that I get extremely thirsty for the next couple of hours.

I have some health problems that are made worse by a high intake of salt. This is also the case for my partner. Too much salt is not good for you. It causes more water retention but I don't know how that affects sweating. Your body might be sweating more to get rid of the salt in your system. I know I get salt sweat after food, if you get what I mean.

I've heard so many stories of simple diet changes and exercise returning the sweat to normal levels. I'm starting a low sodium diet with a lot of water for a month and see if it makes a difference. The amount of sodium in prepared and restaurant food is staggering!

I think there is more too it than that unfortunately, but like Sprawling mentioned, I tend to sweat less while eating. I think it could be situational, like your body and mind are focused on the food so you forget about the sweating.

No I don't really think so, mostly because if anyone who ingested too much salt would have HH there'd be floods everywhere.

Of course then it could still be that too much salt doesn't cause any problems with most people but somehow does with HH sufferers but I don't see how that would happen.

To much salt makes me too damn thirsty, which makes me drink lots of water, which makes me sweat, and pee and the cycle goes on and on.
