I am 24 years old, and I get extremely nervous whenever one of my coworkers brings their children into work or even when my Aunts and Uncles bring their young children to family get togethers.
I think it's because until kids reach a certain level of maturity (say around 10-13), people act differently around them. You know what I mean, the kind of "baby talk" where you are speaking at their level. I've never been good at this baby/child talk. Also, I've never been the kind of person where people look up to me (i.e. a role-model such as the older cousin-type). Consequently, at work I avoid these kids as much as possible, and at family get togethers I say hi to them but that is about it.
Do any of you guys have similar problems?
