It's wierd. Do you know what you look like? and do you think no-one really knows what they look like to others?

I feel like I look different on diferent days.

When I'm at home I might look in the mirror and think I look alright, and then I might go to the pub with some mates, have a few drinks and some one will start taking pictures and I look totally different!!!(usually in a bad way!!!).
Then I will see some different pictures from a different time, and I look different on those pictures!!!

I havent exactly had LOADS of girlfriends and have hardley ever been aproached by girls so it can be really fustrating not knowing what I look like!!

Sorry I sound really vein dont I lol

I Know exactly what you mean!!!

You look at yourself in different ways as well lol. What I also find wierd is when you look at pictures of your mates and they will say something like "How stupid do I look there!" And I think to myself, ermmm well not really lol, just look like yourself.

I think we look at ourself on a wider scale and see ourselves in many more ways than how we see other people.

I feel like that, too. When I look at myself at home in the mirror, a lot of the time I don't thnk I look too bad, sometimes I even think I look pretty good. But when I go out somewhere, and catch a glimpse of myself in a mirror or a shop window, or a lot of times even if I don't seem my reflection anywhere, I start feeling like an ugly fat cow. I feel like crawling under the nearest rock.

Yeah in front of a mirror at home I may think "hey, I don't look so bad," but in photos or on a mirror that is reflecting off of another mirror (to see my facial profile), I often look horrible. Gah. I wish I could know if I look like what I see in the mirror or in photos. Because they look very different to me.

Same here, I always think I look dreadful in the majority of photographs, and the ones that aren't dreadful just don't look like me at all lol... I don't like what I see in the mirror either, but sometimes I think I look okay, but never so in photographs. *Sigh*

Of course, generally being ugly, as I am, doesn't help anything lol. Oh well...

If you type "mirrors lie" into google there are some interesting peices about what you perceive as your reflection.

Also I have come to a conclusion that pictures also do not show the reall you as it is a still of yourself. Unless you never blink or move your head or facial expressions and every1 sees you from the same angle that is.

Lol I stated earlier I was leaving this site but thought I may as well chip in on my own thread so when this sinks I'm outy.

:D

I'm getting cosmetic surgery.

U was talkin about Nose Job in the past?

Yes, that and cheek implants or grafting. The only thing thats preventing me from moving on is money.

The point is, you don't have to have cosmetic surgery to feel better about yourself. It's nothing but a sick and twisted way to go about raising your self esteem.

Peace

It's true, and i never even look the same to myself. Today i'm good looking as far as i've percieved myself, other days i'm far from it. But that's just through mirrors. I'm not particularly photogenic either, sometimes i look fine and moments after i can look like i think i look when i'm bad.

So if only i knew what i was really like to everyone else.. i was shocked when a few friends and I were talking about being vain and self consciousness, and i entered saying about how I was incredibly self conscious. One of them was actually surprised, saying 'your're self conscious?!'. Not exactly sure what to think of that, but he definately thinks i dress and look well enough, which relaxed me a bit.

Confidence boosts!!

I can relate. I look in the mirror and think I don't look too bad, and the funny thing is the further away I look at myself the worse I look and not the other way around! I hate getting my photo taken by other people, the reason why is because they always get my worst profile. I look best when a pic of my face is taken either directly from the front o'r slightly to the left, but I think the side profile of my face is ugly. When I take a pic of myself for my profile on social networking sites I make sure I take my pic from the best angle, and sometimes take lots and lots untill I get one that makes me look ok. I also hate hearing my voice on recordings! I think that voice is ok but when I hear it on recordings I sound awfull!
