Dinner with friends..ahhh

JUst left a very social situation tonight. I went over to a friends to get my hair done which is scary enouph as it is and she invited more friends over to get their hair done also. HTne afterwards she heard me say that I was going for chinese so she invited herself and family as well as the other frineds at the house and thier family. Eating in fron of people is very hard for me since when I panic I get real nasaus, and my throat closes up. THis really sucks. Everyone thinks I'm a bitch cuz I act like i'm too good for everyone when really I'm just scared to death to loose my mind around them.

Nightmare 8O ,I know what you mean,I hate it when people think their being friendly towards you but you would rather they just left you alone.Then it makes you feel bad coz you have to try and turn them away. Eating in front of other people used to be one of my worst fears coz my hands would tremble so much and my head would shake i would get so self concious that people were noticing,But after i started taking meds it sort of went away and now it dosent bother me :roll: Although i still get the trembling head thing and my lips too especialy when i'm trying to force a smile

Dinner with people is the worst because you have to seem interested non-stop and you cant walk around or escape if you get tongue tied.

I dont speak loudly either so i usually have to repeat myself and end up feeling like a complete fool

people inviting themselves or making plans for me sucks. If only they knew how bad they were making things for me. One of the conversations today was them asking me what I was doing about a birthday party and when I said I will have to see they started to plan it. Holy hell people you don't have to send me to my room to hide I'll go there on my own!

i know what youre talking about, personally i dont have such big problems with eating, but its my mothers symptom of SP - she cant eat when there are others around

Also you just have to learn to say no. Its hard at first but if you say no from the get go people understand straight away. They may not like it but they understand thats what you would prefer. Unless you really wanted to do something, after all maybe you considered the dinner party to be enough which is fair enough.

yes, he was mental cripple.. or how do you say this, i dont know, my english isnt that good, anyway after i shot him he became physical cripple as well

dzerkls...your mom has it too? My mom just started having symptons like the past few months. It has already almost made her agoraphobic in just that short of time but she still does well.

weedle, i hope your mom will be ok. My mom has only this eating problem, no others. Shes very sociable, but when it comes to eating in public places she gets very nervous, starts sweating and blushing, she gets this feeling that everybody looks at her.
