class discussion: social media

A little discussion in one of my classes broke out - regarding facebook, and other social media sites:

Beware, Tech Abandoners. People Without Facebook Accounts Are 'Suspicious.' - Forbes

I am sick and tired of hearing about this old argument: if you have fb, you are like that person who gets to sit at the cool kids table at lunchtime; if you do not have fb, you are anti-everything.
Is anyone else as sick and tied of hearing this as I am?

meh, whatever.

... as I reach for my sippy cup of vodka... it's been a long day with the kids. I've been puked on, pooped on, and cleaned up pee, wiped a toddler's bum twice, and kissed boo boos...and this all started at 5 am - just got relieved of my duties at 6:30 pm. <yawn>

I know some of the nicest people in the world (my best friend, my dad, a Christian woman who I used to hang out with) and they don't have an fb account.

I feel on the list of things that make me suspicious, not having a facebook is not very near the top. I can only think of 2 people who have ever even asked if I had a facebook, so most people don't need that information to come to their conclusions. Strange no one wonders if the quiet guy who no one knows anything about at all ever has a facebook or not. Hmm:thinking:
