Certain Dri

...worked miraculously for me right from the start. I followed the instructions carefully and after a month of consistent using, I had completely, and I mean completely dry underarms. What joy... I'd never thought it would work for me since my perspiration was nowhere near mild or moderate, I thought it worked for those normal people who complained about "sweating" 5 drops when they worked out during the summer. But it exceeded my expectations and gave me the opportunity to get to know a normal way of living for a few months.

However, there was a catch of course... Goddamn reflex sweating!!! After about 2 months of using Certain Dri, I suddenly started sweating through my feet... profusely!! This was the first time in my life I had to get acquainted with wet socks and... foot odor! What a horrible thing to deal with! It was way more embarrassing than underarm HH because now there was the smell. I tried to fight it with bicarbonate which worked great at first but then stopped after a while. Right now I'm trying to decide which one is better, sweat rings on my precious clothes or foot odor that is extremely annoying...

How the hell my body can be so smart it finds a way to counterattack my efforts? Does this mean I actually HAVE TO sweat some way or the other? So my overactive sweat glands are not a defect but a necessity for me?

I don't understand, anyone else experienced reflex sweating after a working cure?

In any case though, I'd suggest anyone out there who hasn't tried Certain Dri to give it a chance, it actually works.

Compensatory sweating is quite normal for those of us with HH. When I use Certain Dri, or do my ionto, sweating is always diverted somewhere else. During the summer months, sweat goes everywhere. It's like being in a shower of sweat.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't know it was so common, what an annoying situation, seems like there's no way we can be completely dry.

I would gladly take sweating everywhere to concentrating every drop on your feet. But I think I'll give up using CD, it's an amazing product but my body refuses to stop sweating, so I don't want to mess with it anymore. Maybe I'll give it another try in winter, does it get any milder when it's cold?

My overall body sweating decreases during the cooler weather. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Some people sweat consistently all the time during hot or cold weather.

I see, well I used to be among the really unlucky ones, sweating during snowball fights :) But not as bad as in summertime of course.

I stopped using Certain Dri the day I posted this thread, and the weird thing is, I still do not sweat. I mean I am not completely dry anymore, but it's pretty tolerable for such a hot weather, normally I'd be dripping now. My feet still sweat, but not as extremely as before. So right now, I am actually pretty happy with my current sweat status. I hope it continues this way, and in the winter it will probably get better.

when i started sweating from my underarms a few years ago I used Anhydrol Forte to treat it and it worked too well and I started sweating from my hands after using it for a while so now I use an ionto machine for my hands-its all good fun (not)

Welcome to my world buddy :(. My main HH area is my feet and i have to deal with foot funk (funk ppl can smell from 3-5 feet away) everyday... it's really hard to be social and live a life. Friends? Job? Movies? Shopping? HA yea right.. what a nightmare.

But yes i also noticed and many other HH sufferers that once you find a way to stop your sweating, itle relocate itself to a different part of the area. Thats one of the main reasons i stay away from the idea of sugery cuz itle just go from my feet to either my pits/back/face/chest/crotch wherever. I used to use ionto on my feet which did the job, but my hands would start to sweat more then its usual HH m.o. which i was fine with since i didn't have to deal with foot funk, but it just became inconvenient and i got lazy so i stopped. I'm still on my long long quest to find a cure or at least a temp. fix that isn't time consuming.

My opinion to you. Decide where you would be fine with sweating, pits, hands, face, back, etc. If you think your cool with hand sweating, then try certain dri on both your pits and feet and maybe itle move up to your hands.

Edit: didnt notice how old the thread was and saw your recent post. Happy for you that everything is working out for you :)
