I've lost about 45 lbs in the past year, and I have noticed a decline in sweating. I can't say for sure how much is because of my weight loss/fitness, because I also just started using Iontophoresis less than 2 years ago. I definitely think it has helped, but not sure just how much.

When you're fitter, you have a lower resting heart rate, which I think helps prevent your body from triggering the part of the body that tells it to sweat. I think looking and feeling better also helps with your self confidence, whcih helps prevent the HH from triggering. Also, because you are eating healthier, you are putting less toxins/junk in your body, which helps.

Overall, it helps to be fit, but I don't think it will dramatically help reduce the sweating, but it will help some for sure. I think the more overweight you are, the more benefit you will see in the reduction of sweating, if you lose weight/eat better/increase cardiovascular conditioning.

It may help a little, but I know from experience that you can still have HH even if you have little body fat.

I think the effect of having a healthier body and a more positive mind set from the endorphins from working out will reduce sweating. Basically you can be a heavy set dude if your healthy and feel good and itle help with sweating.

The answer is no. I was fit as a fiddle, and sweat like a glass of lemonade on a hot summer day.

Anxiety related sweating diagnoses and 8 years of paxil and zoloft later, not so fit. Still sweat.

So your sweating problem is different than ours. Not the same.

I will try to keep my body fat percentage to a minimum to see if this helps. Sadly to do this I need about 3 months of diet and exercise. I hope exercise doesn't ruin iontophoresis results.

I don't think so. I am very fit with only 7% body fat, however, my sweating was still pretty bad(before I got botox). That's just me though.

It will help a bit. Because your are more fit activities will seem easier to you and your body will sweat less. And it also helps with HH caused by anxiety. Staying fit build confidence.

No. My problem is exactly the same. The anxiety related diagnosis was because the doctor didn't have a clue what HH was so he said, "hell, lets try this. it must be anxiety related"

I was extremely active and fit and still sweat. I'm also follow a vegetarian diet and neither effects the sweating. HH just makes us more anxious than most. Iontopheresis is my miracle drug.

As I have gotten older, I discovered that I had high blood pressure. I am now on meds and so the high blood is better. I didn't really notice a difference in sweating between bouts of high and low blood pressure.
The anxiety I think is the bigger factor here. If your anxious it makes your whole body on edge. If your calm your entire body relaxes with what your mind is telling your body.

My body fat percentage has changed pretty dramatically (up, down, and up again) since my HH emerged when I was about 13. My excessive sweating has not changed at all. I was a twig for the first three years of it and still soaked everything. Annnd I lost a lot of weight once (pretty drastically, to the point where my period stopped for about a year), but... still soaked everything.

Best of luck, though. Exercise is good for your mental health anyway, but if your HH isn't a direct product of anxiety, I wouldn't bet on it helping.
