breathing and exercising

I try to exercise regularly but I have trouble breathing while exercising that may be social anxiety related. Like when jogging, and I pass someone, I become very self concious, my breathing and heartbeat starts becoming irregular, and I almost subconciously hold my breath in. It's like a panic reaction. The same goes for swimming in the pool, I really become self concious and actively avoiding eye contact with others instead of focussing on the breathing and the swimming.

I hate this because it prevents me from having a long and effective exercise.

Maybe you should jog at a time of day when there aren't many people in the streets, like daybreak. That's what I do. Or, you can ask someone you're comfortable with to jog with you. That should make you feel more at ease. Try doing exercises at home as well, to compensate for the shortcomings of your outdoor exercises. Tae bo would be a good option.
