Botox worth a go?

I'd like to know how many of you have seen results from botox. I am considering trying it out, but it seems really painful and I'm kind of freaked out. However, if it yielded results, I'd grin and bear it. I just want a taste of being normal. Is there any possibility of complications, infections? Are there any side effects like compensatory sweating?

Haven't had Botox, but did talk to a dermatologist about it. She said it didn't always work, lasted only about 6 months if it did, and cost a fair bit. If there were serious side effects I think she'd have mentioned that, but I didn't follow through.

The dermatologist I saw said she wasn't comfortable in doing this on my hands at least because of the fact that the botox is (temporarily) paralysing your muscles that it can cause complications with being able to use your hands properly. Plus it is expensive and only lasts a matter of months. Have not enquired about usage for underarm sweating as I don't really have it in that area

Those replies were pretty unfair to be honest. I got botox treatment and my hands have been completely dry for a year now. If you get to see the right specialist, one that knows how to use the botox effectivly, you will get really good results. Also, Botox have been used for well over 60 years and is used for stiff necks and all kinds of things and has never proven to be dangerous at all. On the contrary.

After a year the hh is starting to come back a little so I'm soon off for another botox treatment. My doctor (actually the one that invented this treatment) say's that my next treatment will probably last longer.

So please, don't answer things you know nothing about.
