BBC news: Anti-depressants 'of little use'

Whoa thats kinda harsh lol, probably just another way to make money at the expense of people but i cant say much really as i've never tried them. Ive kind of always thought they were useless in improving your condition and there more just make you shutup about it. I mean i honestly think the only way people will get over stuff like this is by either learning to cope with the conflict or whatever in your head or defeating it altogether. That seems like the only cure, to actually change your thoughts rather than stopping you from thinking. As thats exactly how a placebo works, you think your going to get better so you actually do as you have some positivity, it just kinda shows its all in your head sometimes.

But yeah i've never used them and never really really needed to so im gonna be biased.

That doesn't surprise me. I've taken several different antidepressants, and none of them worked. I got all the negative side effects and none of the benefits from them. I think all the success stories out there, from people whose "lives were changed for the better" by taking antidepressants, are just fairy tales made up by the pharmaceutical industry. They are making shitloads of money with bogus pills which often do more harm than good.

I think theres always been a good arguement for anti depressants not working specialy for some people anyway.I mean correct me if im wrong but can a doctor actualy look into our brains and go oh shit look... you havnt got enough seratonin.Sometimes depression is an illness... but sometimes its just a normal reaction to life events.I really think they get handed out as this sorta cure all drug... kinda like valium was.

But the makers of Prozac and Seroxat, two of the commonest anti-depressants, said they disagreed with the findings.

It's all about money, research was not even needed to know this. Or the truth of anti-depressants for that matter.

History just repeats itself no matter how "advanced" the present seems.

[insert more rant ect.]
