I left a message, but I still feel crappy.
I'll probably obsess about this for the next month. It worries me that something will fall through and I won't actually get to start the job I want. ::(:

I've thought about pursuing a masters to become a librarian, the only thing that worries me though is that I'm sure they have to do public speaking sometimes ::(: I just don't know if I could handle that.

I finally got the letter (they still put the wrong zip code, though). I start Monday, August 13. The county employee orientation I have to go to is Wednesday, August 15, 8:30-10:30. My son's first day of Kindergarten is August 15, 8:35-3:45. I'm pretty upset that I won't get to spend more time with him on this important day. The only slightly positive thing is that my dad tends to have Wednesdays off, so he may be able to go with us and stay with my son when I have to leave for the orientation.

Go for it hun! Since you guys know each other, that could help you get your foot in the door.

also i really dont think hes going to be going around telling people that you did/didnt get the job. Like, why would that come up in a conversation?

I worked at the library I'll be at for the first time today. Everyone was very nice. Throughout this process (orientation this week through today), I have not been very anxious at all. I was more nervous about my son starting school. I take this as a sign that this career will be a good fit for me. :D

Okay...so, I have the job I originally applied for. Now, a higher-paying position has opened up. I plan on trying to attain the same position in the future, but am not sure I'm ready yet (I've learned some, but not a lot, of aspects of it). I could be trained to do it, but wanted more knowledge going into it. I'm debating whether or not to apply. Considering talking to the manager to see what she thinks, but am anxious about that. Worried that if I do apply and don't get it, I'll feel awkward around the manager (she'll be doing the interviews, most likely). Also, my school schedule will take precedence over everything, and I don't know what that will look like for the rest of the year till next month.
Should I go ahead and apply, or wait till I "feel ready"?

Do it do it do it! Even if you get the job, you don't have to take it, and by then you will have a better idea of whether or not you want it.
