Are you scared of people in authority?

Oh definitely! I think that's one of the reasons my teachers loved me in school, because I was so quiet and I always did as I was told. (I was too scared to disobey!)
Also, cops make me really nervous. :?

hehe... I think cops make most people nervous. I don't much like having a coversation with a person who carries a gun, a taser and pepper spray, no matter how nice that person may seem.

I wouldn't say I'm scared of people in authority, but I have a hard time talking to them, because I am always trying to make sure that I don't say the wrong thing.

Like my boss is really nice and laid back, but I always think I'm going to say something wrong or let something slip. I'm always afraid to talk politics or religion with her because I may offend her or something. Pretty much I am afraid to show the real me.

Don't be afraid to set them straight if they are out of line though, one of my teachers at university is loud/domineering/patronising and places her importance above everyone elses, she talks to everyone like they are stupid just because she's older and knows the content more so then the students. so the students bare the brunt of her wrath for the most petty reasons, arrogance is ok as long as you use it properly without trying to look more important then everyone else, ive even responded to her a few times saying why are you talking to people like that they just asked a question, she knows i dont have time for it. ...

my parents were like that too and i'd answer them back which often lead to threats to throw me out of the house over petty arguments about things like not eating all the food on my plate because i wasn't hungry even though i'd offer to eat it later, stuff like that would lead to hours of lectures, often parents thing they own you and you must obey their every action, doesn't work that way ..

so i have no time for those sorts of people and i'm fully aware its because they've grown up feeling like their opinion is the one and only correct opinion and they've got away with being that way for so long, but the way i deal with them is to say what i need to say and then ignore them until they talk to me like a normal person with respect and gratitude ..
