My parents are going to make me see a therapist for my social anxiety but I don't do well with these kind of things and I am kinda nervous. Were you scared about going at first? Do you get to know your therapist pretty well? How often are the appointments? What do you do when you go see them? i'd really like some advice so please answer!

I've been to a LOT of therapists and counsellors, and it's not that bad, even for someone who absolutely can't stand talking to anyone. If anything it's a good thing, it helped me just air out some grievances, just to share with somebody what was actually going through my mind.

It'll depend on what kind of therapist, or how much you need, to determine how often you see them, but I've pretty much consistently seen mine every couple weeks.
You'll be fine, you'll probably just sit there and get asked a lot of questions, that you don't have to answer if you don't want to. Good luck ;D

Going to a therapist might be weird the first couple of times, but usually I haven´t felt uncomfortable about it. On the other hand, being in group therapy makes me feel nervous. They say group therapy can do things that a therapist can´do, so I´m giving it another chance.
