Are you a pansy??

I'm a goddamn pansy I was in karate for like 6 years and now I was about to take a boxing class with my room mate....Thing is tonight me and my room mate had a boxing match of our own....I got punched once in the face and that was enough for me. I'm not cut out for this stuff, my room mate says I need to get toughened up but I hate getting hit! I'm a pansy and no girls like pansies am I right???

i'm a total pansy. i am a female george mcfly.

don't worry, not all girls like meatheads. i hate guys who are into boxing, football, shit like that. no substance. i'm sure you have many qualities girls would find way more attractive than the desire to be roughed up.

Violence is a hobby I'm not interested in, and my only means of self-defense is to call the police, if that's what you mean by pansy. But I like it that way. Who cares if I'm weak? You don't arm wrestle to decide who wins at life.

If you shape your life around what you think girls like even when you hate it... well, that seems sad and destined to failure.

In any case if it was your first sparring session your partner shouldn't have hit you hard. It can be discouraging at first if you get hit hard.

You can also take up weightlifting - that can be painful(in a good way). It could dispell the "sissyness" you claim you have and is healthy. Anyone who can lift heavy weights is by no means a "sissy".

I used to take boxing for a short while, but I was so anxious before going to the training center(not so much there, besides shadowboxing) that I gave up two times, now they probably wont acept me if I go back,I havent done anything in about one year and some months just working till late at night and feel like a slob/weakling,also most karate styles dont allow punches to the head(dont know if its your case) the first time you get one well placed (also you dont spar with 100% power, dont know if it was the case here either)it is tough.

It's natural to feel scared. Nobody should ever be called a pansy or mocked for being scared. It's in our biology and sometimes we dont know what to do with it. We can be helped though, and that's the mindset we should take towards this. It is not "unmanly" to be scared just because everyone likes to group "fear" as a "feminine' characteristic. It's a misunderstanding that people think women are the weaker ones and men are the strong ones. They can both be strong.
