Well, after spending some time in the garden this afternoon, I felt happy and contented, so I scribbled this rather poor excuse for a poem in less than ten minutes:
Spring
I have never much cared for Spring.
It was just a transition; A changing
From Winter’s Cold, yet beautiful isolation,
To Summer’s hot and fiery passion.
But today as I sat and wandered around
Hope, peace, love and serenity I found.
Spring’s gentle, warmth and life a-new
Sang to my spirit, lifted it too.
Spring can be compared to love.
Gentle, honest, pure, warmth from above:
The sun’s rays, like care from a heart.
Bringing hope and a new start.
My soul grew happy, filled with love.
Calmness surrounded, the peace of the dove
Filled my heart as I began, slowly to smile.
THIS is life! Which I have longed for while
Winter’s storms battered me, ever cruel
Summer’s heat robbed me of water so cool.
Autumnal leaves withered and died.
It was spring which I longed for, here inside.
Inside my heart, which is now alive.
Inside my mind. I know I’ll survive
Whatever the weather throws at me
There is always the hope and certainty.
That Spring will once again return
To bring the sense of happiness for which I yearn.
Eyes open; True beauty I now see.
Spring is love, life, hope. Eternity.
Ah, I like feeling positive! ^_^
