Trying To Reconnect With Old Friend!

In some ways I relate to your ex as I have at times in my life cut people off completely and I used to hold grudges for years. On a journey of self improvement, I've since tried bettering myself to the point where I'm not angered by past slights and wrongdoings (for the most part). That said...

    Coronavirus

I'm considered an essential employee which means I'm required to go in at least two days a week although not for a full day. So, no problem. Yesterday, I'm coming home around noon thinking I pretty much have it made with this lockdown. Easy days. And WHAM! Some bloke driving behind me and on...

Well, I made it to the weekend but it feels like the entire week has been kind of a strange weekend with this lockdown/work from home situation. Strange times.

How are u dealing with the pandemic and lockdowns?

I'm now beginning to do more writing since I have so much downtime during "work hours" at home. My second novel should be ready for final edits and publishing by mid May (hopefully).

How are u dealing with the pandemic and lockdowns?

Let's see. I get to work from home. I get to sleep later. I don't have to deal with traffic. I'm cooking at home and eating healther instead of grabbing breakfast and lunch at fast food restaurants. Therefore, I'm also saving money. When I do have to go out, I get what I need quickly then...

I'm a little annoyed that books, movies and television series are popping up calling themselves The Outsider. I feel so commercialized now.

    Coronavirus

I think most of us introverts feel like we've been training all our lives for this type of situation. Give me enough food, internet access, TV and a few books and I'm fine. I have to admit, at the beginning I was kind of blowing the whole situation off but it does seem to be quite serious so...

Is it possible to be happy alone?

Very well stated and an excellent/healthy way to look at it, IMO.

It sucks that we have to deal with this well into adulthood but it seems as if people are attracted to those who don't fight back. My concern is that when I finally do, my reaction is usually over the top and the outcome will be worse than if I'd just kept quiet.

Thanks, Pacific_Loner. I only wish I could be successful enough to quit my day job. Haha.

    How are you feeling?

Feeling like I'm going through a dry spell where things aren't necessarily ideal but feeling like it's temporary and I'll be up again soon.

Is it possible to be happy alone?

I have always been a natural loner. Being alone never bothered me at all and I lived for years by myself before marrying. I was fine with it. A funny thing that happened to me some years back was some people decided they were going to ostracize me. I realized what they were doing and went...

Being a published writer is an interesting thing when you're also an introvert and have social anxiety. The writing process itself appeals to me because it's done in peaceful solitude (that's the only way I can concentrate and be creative). But once you go public with your works, it requires...

I left a job over three years ago that sound like the one you're describing. Went to work with an older crowd. It was the best career move ever. No pressure to hang out minimum nosiness and people content to do their own thing (like going to lunch alone instead of in a big social group). I...
