Money

So lately I've been thinking. If I had lots of money say millions of dollars, would my SA suddenly go away? I figured money gives most people respect and you feel more confident about yourself, like the way you look the car you drive the house you live in, etc etc.

If someone offered you 5 million dollars or to suddenly make your anxiety disappear which would you take? I think about this a lot, I don't know why. I'd be tempted by the money because I feel it would give me more confidence and respect. No one would have to know someone handed you the money either so they would think you can do things right in your life to have money. On the other hand if my anxiety was taken away I wouldn't be afraid to go out into the world, take a chance and become successful not only financially but emotionally and relationship wise.

Anyone else understand what I'm saying?

Yea, I understand what you're saying. If I had a lot of money I would do whatever I wanted to do. I think money can give you confidence.

I wold be on top of the world, with confidence and looking fly 24/7 and not look like shyt like i do on a daily basis. IT lowers my self steem....

- If you don't know the root cause of what is causing your anxiety you will look for answers elsewhere. In this case 'money'. Tomorrow it might be your parents etc.

- No it wont. You will still feel like crap, even if you had that kind of money.

Here's a roadmap in simple terms.
- Find out what is causing this SA. (bad health)

- Find out what exactly is unhealthy about you
(separate the noise, & focus on the real thing. tough thing to do)

- Apply a mutli polarity approach towards become healthy again
- Alternative methods of healing
- yoga (regular use will cure almost any disease)
- pranayama
- Mediation

- Keep posting here & elsewhere what you find so community can benefit.

cheers!

I think the kind of "respect" money brings is pretty superficial. I don't respect people because they have money, and I wouldn't want to be respected for the same reason. Also, having five million dollars wouldn't stop me from isolating myself in my room from the outside world anyways.

You mean like A LOT of money? I don't think you can become rich by being reclusive. You need to be a people person to some degree in order to sell whatever you're doing. And even if any of us got there, it would still be like "nice marble staircase" "...thanks..." *awkward pause*

Nothing would really change other than the quality of items in your life, not your life itself.

Money is such a need that yeh, it'd be mad to not have such a weight on your shoulders everyday you can just walk around without worrying if your going to be out on the street without a home, you dont have that pressure as a male to be the provider if you start a family ...

It would be nice not to have the money worries as well as the SA ones, so yeah I think it would help somewhat.

You could buy yourself you're own private island with a posh security system, and hey presto problem sorted :p

I would take the cash, build a luxury house up in the mountains, pay someone to deliver supplies once in a while and buy a rifle to shoot any other trespassers.

Edit : Oh and a moat+tall brick wall.

Money is crucial in social situations. You can buy very nice cloths, eau de toilet, a cool car and live by yourself. You dont need plenty of it. Just the necessary in the context you live.

I don't think millions of dollars would make a difference, except if you used it to find the best therapist in the world. Money can help to some degree to improve your confidence - for instance, wearing nice clothes boosts your self esteem. Also, exposure therapy involves social interaction and that generally involves spending money. One of my exposure techniques is to eat lunch and dinner out every night - obviously more expensive than eating in but a necessary component to my therapy.

I'm not sure, some part of me thinks that I would get a lot more confidence from having a shit load of money, but then I kind of also think that I would get new anxiety from figuring out how to spend the money, from pressures revolving around other rich people i would get to know and so on. It would definitely relieve some of my anxiety, but it would probably create new ones. So would I like to get a million dollars? Hell yeah, I'll trade anxieties for money.
