a loner is someone who prefer to live alone and do everything alone. It's not always a preference.

an introvert is someone who likes to do things alone most of the time, but can do things with other from time to time or rarely. An Introvert can possibly not mind being around others too.

solitude is a state of isolation.

a loner and an introvert is that type of person and yes I'm that way. I spend most of my time off by myself in my room

the term "introvert" is society's attempt at justifying shy people's existence. "loner" is a slightly cooler word i like to have pinned on my head cause of all those old movies with the cool guys in leather jackets.

An "introvert" is someone who has (but not necessarily who "suffers" from"!) the inborn trait of "introversion". It means that they tend to "live in their head" rather than the outside, physical world (which tends to tire them easily) .. hence they choose to live of "solitude" to give them the substantial alone-time they need. A person who lives this "life of solitude" is called a "loner".

But being an introvert doesn't automatically make you a loner, as i'm sure there are introverts (introverted people) who have "fairly" sociable lives (although i think it would tire them out, but they just handle it somehow; perhaps one can be BOTH sociable & introverted??)

And neither does being a loner mean you a introvert, as da_illest101 pointed out above

What is the category that loves being alone in their own world?Autistic?Schizoid?Introvert?Loner?
All of them do.

With Autism (& Aspergers), i think their solitude is both due to being introverted (preferring solitude & solo activities) & being unable to deal with people adequately.

But if you're looking for a label to "call" yourself, i would use...
• Autism (& Aspergers) --> "Autistic" (or "Aspic"? lol)
• Schizoid --> Loner
• Introvert/ed --> Introvert
• Loner --> Loner

Society (in it's "infinate wisdom & understanding") & most people (incl family), probably use the following simplified/catch-all labels...
• Autism (& Aspergers) --> Loner or Shy or Loser
• Schizoid --> Loner or Shy or Loser
• Introvert/ed --> Loner or Shy or Loser
• Loner --> Loner or Shy or Loser

I ask this to see why there are so many depressives in the wrongplanet forums.

I don't understand? Wrongplanet forums is a site for people with Asperger's Syndrome. This is a site for people who has some sort of social anxiety. Why not ask on the wrongplanet forums?
