Feeling less anxious in dark places...???

My social anxiety seems to be alot better if not non existent in dark rooms or places.... For example my anxiety is usually at its worst when im in restaurants yet if the restaurant is very dimly lit i feel fine!!! At night walking down the street i am fine!!! At work (i work in a bar) i am fine!!! Daylight seems to make my anxiety 10000000x worse. Now summer is over im finding it very hard, as in the summer i used to wear sunglasses like all the time. But now for obvious reasons i cant do that, and i find bight shops and daylight just make me feel like hiding under a rock! I also have problems with eye contact so maybe why? Anyone else feel like this?

Dark places like this? - You can't see. I assure you it is.

Although I am trying to become tired. Cold and dark.

Dark, unlit, feeling no one can harm. What normal individual would have an extreme comfort in darkness? It is alone, seeking. Darkness, found.

Bright, lit, feeling eyes upon causing harm. What normal individual could have any comfort in light? It is attention drawn, not seeking. Brightness, motion.

Is it any wonder why some here prefer storms to bright sunny days?

Unseen. Not alone.

Yup, yup. But mainly because I'm painfully self-conscious so going out at night is the only time that I don't worry about my looks.
Another reason is that not a lot of people drive at night so I find it very soothing to be on the road by myself. :)

I definitely agree with this! Even just walking home from the bus stop is considerably easier when it's overcast or rainy as opposed to sunny and bright.

I LOVE the nighttime (or just the dark in general). I feel safe and comfortable and free. I'm more honest with people about how I truly feel. It's strange. It's like I'm two different people. This romantic person after the sun goes down and a bumbling mess when the sun is up!

I don't think it's too uncommon, though. Sitting in my college classes we always have the room dimmed while watching a video or looking at slides. The teachers always want the lights back on, but everyone else would much rather have them off.

I'm quite the opposite. For me the best time to socialise is during the day. By the time it's dark, I pretty much just want to retreat home and spend the night in front of the tele or whatever. I suspect this is to do with energy level, and light = energy.
