Hi everyone,
As it is appear from the title I have a serious problem with facial sweating.
every time that I speak to girls or even sometimes women a start to sweat and and it made my life horrible:mad:, I am thinking about this many hours a day and it is affecting all aspects of my life. For example the whole time of a class I spend on thinking what if the teacher come and talk to me and I start to sweat.
Has anyone of you had the same or similar problem?
Does anyone know any treatment?
I already started to take pro-banthin tablets.

Thanks for your reply.
I do workout everyday but it haven't had any effect on this problem.
No I haven't tried green tea, actually I have tried it but not for this purpose and I don't know if it had an effect I will try it.
Have you had a same problem ? Has it been solved?

^ True, but some people sweat more than others. Anxiety can make it worse than it already is.

For me working out, drinking green tea and water does help. In addition, you can use driclor or Odaban Antiperspirant Spray. Have a lot to eat in the morning, this may help...

Odaban Antiperspirant Spray: Amazon.co.uk: Pharmacy Place

You can purchase this from Amazon or Boots.

So far, I've stopped sweating excessively, though I never had problem with facial sweating...carry some cloth around and wipe the sweat off your face.

I have the same thing. Whenever I'm in a crowded place, or on the subway/bus my forehead and nose start sweating like crazy. Whenever I was sharing a textbook or a sheet of paper with someone and they could see my hand sweating that in turn caused my face to start sweating. Having to hold hands in church during prayers was pretty bad too.

The funniest(now that I think about it) is this one time I was standing in line at a coffee shop and there was a cop standing beside me. I don't know if my face started sweating because I was nervous or just the usual random sweating from hyperhidrosis, but the cop started looking at me funny like I was up to something. Same thing at the bank, they always think I'm up to no good because of my sweating.

It reminds of of that episode of Seinfeld were George eats something spicy and starts sweating, so his boss thinks that he was the one who was stealing the baseball equipment.

I know I shouldn't find it funny but, I have HH too nd you saying that about the fuzz had me rolling around. Same happend to me a couple of times security guards following me around because I'm having a bad day with HH... My doc says I have anxiety that's why I have HH, but I say to that I've never had anxieties that become more apparent after my ops now its worse nd now I do suffer from anxiety:. Hope you find something that works... If you do post it on here :)

This is a HUGE problem for me!

I'm was laid off after working at the same company for 12 years, and I just went on my first job interview in as many years. What a disaster. I knew my biggest battle was going to be to try to remain calm so I don't start sweating profusely.

But of course that's just a losing battle.

The more anxious I get, the more I sweat, and the more I sweat, the more anxious I get because I can't stop sweating ...and so on and so on.

I got through the interview, but I spent the entire time obessing about whether they noticed my sweating, and how much of a freak they thought I was. The only thing I had going for me was that it was pretty hot that day. ::p:

That is a problem I have too, Monday I went out with a girl and I was sweating like crazy it ruined everything, it was so hot I couldn't handle it. While everyone else around was walking in the sun looking fresh.

When I was skinny, just by normal walking I sweated more than obese people running a race!!

It's seems we all share the same problem in many corners of the world, anxiety nd HH don't do each other any favours.. the understanding of what we go threw in the UK is shocking I've been kicked of the sick to many times.. its hard to get a job with thoughts like those running round our heads. But hey they don't care as long as we pay our taxes... Who cares how we feel as humans :-( good luck in your personal battle against HH.

No worries, I still think it was hilarious which I think it's a healthy way of dealing with HH and anxiety. I decided not to take those awkward/embarrassing situations seriously anymore. I've changed a couple of things and I think they have helped me slightly:

- Getting more exercise, both cardio and weights.
- Eating cleaner, less junk food and spicy, high sodium products
- Always carry a handkerchief with me, and dress as light as possible
- Quit drinking, smoking (still have one once in a while)
- working on drinking less coffee and tea

But I think the thing that has helped me the most is changing the way I think or react to things. Whenever I feel anger, regret, fear, worry, jealousy, etc. I just stop for a second and forget about it. I say to myself that those feelings don't help me in any way and won't change anything. Even if things didn't work out and look gloom, I just relax and accept how things turned out. Basically I don't fret about the things I can't change. It's still a work in progress and I have a long way to go. My facial sweating hasn't decreased that much, but I feel generally more relaxed than before. Less anxiety=less sweat.

I still have major problems with group gatherings, I see how your thoughts nd feelings affect HH, going to the gym does help with my confidence, cutting out tea is Crazy I pine for a cup maybe as I drink 20/30 cups a day I'm only 25 shocking I know... Quiting smoking a mind screw too I clean like mad going over things again. Since I've had ETS done I don't know what food will set me off nd that's another reason I want leave home as ive got to take a change of clothes some days its a guessing game for me.. this high sodium thing?? Can you explain a bit more please

I'm the same way with tea. Ever since I quit drinking and smoking I've had to replace it with something else. Somedays I just spend the entire day drinking coffee or tea.

The thing with the high sodium food and drinks is that it's not healthy. It can lead to high blood pressure and a some other things. I mainly try to avoid them because it feels like I sweat more when I eat food that's high in sodium. It also seems to have an adverse effect on this rare skin condition I have (SAD+HH+this, lol it's like I won the lottery)

I'm very sad to report after a couple of weeks they've stopped working completely :( cry.. when I was taken them I started showing signs of insomnia and headaches most the time. With not much difference to my HH. I went back to my gp who said to stop taken them as I've now tried a few cycles of different meds. He's worried now about side effects :-/

I've put a new thread on today hope you find it enlightening..
