Do i have a personality disorder??

In a nutshell:
I am ridiculously oversensitive and want to harm and take revenge on anyone who disagrees with me or says no to me.

Instead of being momentarily peed off, these feelings last for hours, days even, whereupon i ruminate on how i would hurt them given half a chance and what i ought to have said at the time.

If the person is a friend, then i cant help but cut them off. Invariably my supply of friends is dwindling.

I already cut off a ton of friends who got married or left the country, taking that as a personal affront.

Do i have a personality disorder???
Heeeeeeeeeelp.

As none of us, at least what I know is psychologist, psychiatrist or similar. I think you should talk to a professional about it:)

I have only a somewhat elementary knowledge with psychology, but based on the symptoms you have described to me, I would say that you do not have a personality disorder. If anything, you would appear to have sensitivity issues coupled with anger management problems and perhaps some inferiority and loneliness. Of course, this is merely my guess.

Hey Maxine,

oversensitivity can be connected to brain chemicals and nutrition - you might need magnesium, B vitamins etc...
I can relate to anger management issues :) and being upset etc.

Not sure if I might have AvPD either.. still learning about it (can relate to a lot of what is on the Wikipedia list though...)

I don't really 'cut off' friends who got married, it did feel a bit like being 'abandoned' :) and we sorta often lost touch a bit, but I still love'em and they're still my friends, although we don't see each other now and they're all over the country (or the world)

Is it because you're angry cause you'd love to travel abroad or get married too?
Maybe you could visit the friends abroad or such? Or at least get'em to visit when they come back? Communicate online?

Disagreements can be a source of insight and new learning and finding better solutions for something that either of you wouldn't know how to solve on your own... Could you look at it this way? There are lots of books on effective communication or CBT or other things, I'd recommend reading some...

You sound like a very creative person. Do you have an outlet for this creativity or for energy in general, such as walking/running or kickboxing or weight-lifting or whatever? This might help to 'blow off steam'... Writing angry pop punk rock or country songs may help too.. or banging on the guitar or such..
