At least in the ways that our bodies react to it, according to a new study.

So maybe a lot of us that suffer from social anxiety and other similar disorders just have an abnormal opioid response. I know I'm a wuss when it comes to physical pain as well. Maybe I (and others) really CAN'T cope with any type of pain very well.

I haven't read the article yet, but I know there is evidence that pain-killing medication also eases emotional pain. Knowing this, I would sometimes take an analgesic before a job interview.

I have to say though that I seem to have a higher tolerance for physical pain than emotional. Perhaps it has something to do with perspective? :thinking:

I would imagine that if one can change how they perceive social rejection as being something less negative then maybe more opiods would be released. Inquiring minds want to know.

I sure hope my opioids are kicking in because I'm tired of spending 1.5 days ruminating over yesterday. I just did some yoga, which made me feel better.

I guess that's why some people cut. (I'm not one of them though). But, I have hit myself before.
