Have you ever felt alone? Have you ever felt abandoned? Here is an exercise you can do the next time you feel that way:

1. Take 3 deep breathes

2. Imagine creating a support group around you

3. A close friend walks in, sits down beside you, squeezes your shoulder gently, and reassures you that he or she knows exactly what you are feeling.

4. Several more people appear like a support group to remind you that you are not alone. They have felt this lonely and isolated at times, but now you are in it together.

Remember your visual support group at the times you felt most abandoned. I have even listed the people in my visual support group. By creating a visual support group you are taking the steps to heal the wound of loneliness.
