University Initiation Pranks. Is there life after that?

Guys being physically and verbally abused?
Girls having to do "sexy" things?
Oh, come on... And every year it gets more violent!

In my opinion I think people affected by that should call the police and people who abused others should be sued and jailed.

What are your opinions about that?
Did you guys ever participate at those things?

Hi Anomaly,

I'm talking about those pranks people do to others when they are admitted at the University. Maybe those things don't happen at your country. I'm always shocked to hear that a new student was beated or sexually abused.

I really don't know what to explain more...

Those things are not pranks... that's sick. Now a days everything is a good excuse to abuse others, it seems...

Have you seen any of that personally? The few times I've seen/ participated in such things it was fun for everybody, including the one getting embarrassed, and they weren't even that bad, maybe the girl had to flirt with someone or kiss a guy, but everyone just laughs about it later. The "worst" thing I've seen done in frat houses is that the new members have to pretty much do ALL of the work.

I've heard of initiation rites like that but nothing that wasn't voluntary. I wouldn't take s*** from anybody and would readily defend myself. Others may see it as worthwhile but initiations aren't for me, I have no patience for that sort of thing.

If someone decided that I needed a beating just for being new, I would have no problems with inflicting significant injuries to those with that idea.

Yes, I have already seen really bad stuff happening.

Are you kidding?
This applies to where you live. Here would not be correct to say to a boy or girl to laugh at theirselves whent they had been really abused.

I admit however that I was not 100% on the full page of this issue, since at the time i was thinking about the good natured college type pranks with the water balloon throwing and other shenanigans and whatnot.
