Xervello's Soft Rock for the Soul

Today's installment is literally essential to living. Because no one can survive without Air Supply! Arguably greater than The Beatles, Beethoven and garlic crust pizza, these AM radio gods ruled the world with their gentle harmonies, romantic lyrics, gender neutral clothing, gold chains and chest hair. Close your eyes, sway your head and let angels Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock transport you to heaven.

this song goes great with my tangerine popsicle, my house having little talking (rare occurance except for when they're asleep), and the living room light off so he can sleep on the couch in here :)

Lennon and McCartney, peanut butter and jelly, shoes and socks... among the long list of perfect couplings comes Hall and Oates. Long before Daryl Hall transformed into the Cowardly Lion and John Oates was killed from a falling out with his mustache, these two AM gods were cranking out sweet, sweet soul music. And they were white to boot! Beautiful melodies, soulful lyrics and hair that NO woman could tame, allow yourself to fall in love all over again.

Okay, okay, now I like to joke about soft rock. I genuinely like the music, but also adore how remarkably cheesy it is. I mean, you have to admire that people could look how they did back then and STILL be a success. The outfits, the jewelry, the hair... priceless! But this next installment actually is a quality song. Not that the others weren't, but there was a bit of schmaltz to them that factored into their awesomeness. So I present you with the band Looking Glass. And their big hit "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)" which is a wonderfully melodic story-song. I included a version with the lyrics. Enjoy. Or else! O_O
