That's interesting, what is it you do to try and manage your blushing?

Edit: I just saw your post about it in another thread. :)

Damn, that sounds really good. I can pretty much control it when my damn mind lets me, but sometimes I just feel so anxious that I feel it's going to happen over and over again. I live in the US. I'm gonna start searching it in google. Thank you so much guys for all of your replies. Honestly, when I find myself busy, I almost dont think about it, and it reallllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyy helps!

Ok good luck with it!!Thats the only thing that i know its herbal and it helps.
Once i went to doctor and i was talkin bout my social anxiety and after i asked for my pill and he had to see my blood pressure and he said "after
what we been talkin about still your blood pressure is normal :D "
And he knows bout my blushing and i never gone red.I took few drops before i went in and thats when i thought that staff must have helped me.
But i have to say i took a lot more then it says.it says 4 drpos i had bout 20 :D
Its not a magic cure and not as strong as some other staff here but maybe thats a good thing.
If you buy some get the spray or the drop one i find the one wich you got to chew less good.

I went to my doctor about a year ago when I first heard what could help me. He could see from the red blotchy anxiety rash what it was & gave me Proprananol 40mg (since went down to 10mg) for anxiety as a needed basis. My blood pressure is a bit high when I go to the docs anyhow but I brought a blood pressure machine to check it to make sure it wasn't getting too low. So these meds have been the only thing I could say have truly worked for me. I've tried all these herbal tabs with Valerian, Passion Flower etc but sometimes still get the flushing. I just got the other day GABA 500mg which I heard a lot of people take & I was surprised that it seemed to work too when I took one so may stick to these for a while.

Hey.... well, here are my news. So, I bought the thing. It tastes like shit, but I sprayed it in my tongue like three times. I've been very stressed since I'm training at a new restaurant and I seem to get very nervous when I get a new job, I take orders and I hear my heart or blush, hate it! But it seemed to help a lot. I felt very relaxed.... like a normal person, and didnt blush at all. I dont know if it really works, or if I was just imagining. lol. Anyways, today it seemed to work and I might keep using it. Thank you so much for the advice. it's great. best to you.

Leese, thank you so much for your reply. I've heard wonders about that propanol, or however you spell it. But I'm a little scared of having to take drugs every day. Tell me something, where did you get that GAVA thing? are u still using it, does it still seem to work? thank you so much, hope to hear from you soon

HOW DO YOU DO IT? IT GOES AWAY FROM TIME TO TIME AND GOES AWAY USUALLY WHEN IM SATISFIED WITH MY LIFE, MONEY, U KNOW? BUT ON CRAPPY TIMES USUALLY I GET SO STRESSED THAT I START THINKING ABOUT IT AND AS MAGID...IT COMES BACK. NOW, CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT YOU DO TO CONTROL IT?

NOW, CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT YOU DO TO CONTROL IT?

Hi Desparate - I have given up trying to control it. When I try to control it - it gets stronger than ever. I do however use some strategies that manage it to the degree that I don't let it rule my life.

There were times when I felt I would rather die than face people with my  . In the past I have quit jobs, avoided talking to my mother, and felt so low that I didn't think I could go on. So now - it's still there - but I can manage with it. I can cope with it and I don't let it stop me from doing what I want.

You make an interesting point about when you THINK about it. This is true - when we think about it, we try and fight it and when we try and fight it, it fights back stronger and stronger.

So we have to stop fighting with it so it stops getting stronger.

1. I firstly decided to accept that I do blush - whether I like it or not. I do. I worked on building my self-belief and realised that whether I blush or not I am still a great person (not matter what)

2. Everytime I felt myself replaying or forward playing the blushing I'd tell myself that it was OK. That it doesn't change who I am. Think of when you have seen someone else blush, or be nervous, or do something dumb - did you like them any less? NO (well I hope not). Infact many times you're more endeared to someone who has faults and flaws for all to see. So let's show everyone we've got them! It's OK.

3. Cognitive Therapy gradually taught this technique. Every time you think about yourself blushing (replaying it into your head) say stop! So what if I blush. It doesn't make people like me any less. I then try and stop thinking about it by doing something else like learning Vietnamese, playing music, anything that gets my mind off it.

4. When you find your self in a situation where you are blushing - don't try to hide it - just quietly accept that it is happening. Then move your focus to the person talking to you - think about what they are saying - be totally conscious of what they are doing. Or if you are the one talking focus on what you are saying - think about it - the blushing will not last - because you are not fighting it anymore. (Warning: This takes practice, practice - it will not happen straight away)

5. Force yourself to SMILE, and laugh hard if possible. You look like your laughing at yourself (even if you are not)

6. Excerise. exercise it gets rid of the extra adreneline.
7. Reduce stimulating foods and drink
8. Eat good food, avoid processed foods like wheat flour
(I also take Mag Min - but check with your doctor about supplements)
9. I have also used bach remedies in the past - but found it didn't really work unless I was doing all the other steps as well.
10. Practice these techniques regularly - when you are alone purposely try to make yourself blush - practice being comfortable with it.

When you stop fighting it - it won't fight you.

This probably sounds quite complicated and long - I won't lie to you - my journey has been a long one. However I'd rather take the long journey that live in that other place. I'll admit I have never taken medications so I know nothing about that.

I am really interested to know if this stuff works for anyone else. It took me about 12 months to get where I am - are you up for it?
