Due to the nature of the forum, my guess would be so it encourages people not to spend all day on here.

Without a limit, it would be much busier, more to read, and thus more tempting to spend more time on.

I mean because of what the OP said that people might spend all day here if there was no post limit, lol I didn't mean you shouldn't post or anything.
