You want to know how I got these scars?
I was watching a movie the other night, one that I hadn't seen since childhood.
'The Goonies'. I loved that movie then and as I watched it, I had feeling wash over me that I had at the time of watching it when I was younger.
Mystery, magical, care free, unburdened, comradery and adventure is what I felt. Even those words fail to actually describe how I felt.

As I watched I noticed the town the kids lived in, near the coast. It got me thinking about how it's very close to my ideal living environment, the type of town/place I'd want to live in.

I loved how the houses are set on hillsides, surrounded by tall pine forest type tree's, with a beautiful coastal beach going for miles, a rough shoreline to explore, the coastal cliff to one side, water on the other. A town small town where you can get the things you need, but still feel secluded. It's difficult to describe really, to convey the feelings of how it makes me feel.

Pictures do a better job than my words so I'll post a couple. Where is your ideal place? If you could have it any place, any where, what would you want it to be like? Show pics if you can.

I've always liked the idea of living in a cabin in the woods (deep enough not to run into anyone) with a waterfront - a lake or something - within walking distance. There would be limited resources, including no cable or internet, as to force me to appreciate the world first hand. I don't think I'd want to live there all the time either, as it worry it would turn me into a reclusive hermit losing the ability to function properly in the real world. But it would serve as my escape, a place where I could get away and take a long, deep breath.

It would have lots of those long days that I'd be completely ok with going on for a while. Walks in the woods, swims in the lake, nights by a fire pit. Days looking out at the scenery and contemplating life and everything within it. Having books to read and reflect on, and a place to write my thoughts and stories down. It would be a place that removed all the day to day anxiety of worrying about what the next day entails. I'd be living day by day, and wouldn't be bogged down by money, or social engagements, or oil changes, or insurance forms, or anything. The responsibilities of a kid with the independence and freedom of an adult.

Yes! I wish I won lotto so I never had to work again and could just live as I wanted, with the responsibilities of a kid with the independence and freedom of an adult.:applause:
