when ppl know the truth about your history...

ok.. so I've been a lot more talkative with people these past few months. more open. when it comes to communication though.. I have to be honest with them about my history, regardless of how I seem now. I can't fake it, first of all I don't exactly know how to model one who has a different history than I do.

at the very least a person who knows of my history will see it as odd.

You know, you don't have to tell them if you don't want them to know. There is a big difference in trying to be fake or making up stuff that never actually happened, and just being very vague. Being vague isn't lying, and if you don't want to get into all the details don't tell people. If there is stuff you don't want people to know, then just don't tell them about it. It's not being dishonest if there was never anything said in the first place.

yea but it's like... things that I shouldn't even have a problem talking about.

maybe I should be like "what does it matter?"

Things like what? If it's not important maybe you should try to get used to telling people, even if it's really uncomfortable. I don't know if saying "what does it matter?" is the best thing to do. If someone said that to me I would probably be suspicious, and want to know even more.

Or say "why do you want to know?". Your history is none of their business, just as there are things others won't talk about.

For example the fact that I've never had a girlfriend or that I don't have many friends or much of a social life, or ever have had much of a social life.

Should I just beat around the bush?

I would imagine a girl not liking me simply because of this. Unless I'm like the most confident in the world (because girls supposedly like that stuff more than anything else?)

Nah, don't say you've never had a girlfriend because you don't have a social life. Then she'll wonder what's wrong with you, and that's a huge turn-off, heh. If you say anything about your lack of a GF, preface it with external situations that were out of your hands. Like, "I had a busy schedule all my life and I think it's about time I get serious about love".

You gotta play the attraction game. And if you say anything about having no social life then you are ALSO inadvertently saying that other people found nothing interesting about you, so why should she? And it's not really lying. I mean, you were busy ... with life. Everyone is.
