What to say

How do you respond if someone says the following to you: "you should hang out." Thats it. No specific invite. No actual date, time, or activity. Just in the middle of a conversation. Do you suggest something to do? Do you ask when/where? I'm afraid of how they'll reply because I usually get rejected or panic.

ones i usually use:
"yeah, definitely, just give me a call"
"i'm down, just let me know"

in my experience though, we usually don't hang out after all. and in the rare cases people actually follow up and call to hang out, i usually make up a lame excuse. but it has been getting better recently...

Rejection isn't nice but its how you learn to change your behaviour to elicit better responses. Just remember all rejection is feedback. If sum1 rejects u it is what you did not who you are. Learn to separate the two. If sum1 says 'we should hang out' just say 'ok. I'm busy this week but give me your number.' It doesn't sound needy and gives you a way to contact them in future to arrange sumthin.
