Im pondering now because Im gonna back to school
and sure it would be difficult for me my sa & gad
so Im looking for a job after my study with the least social interaction +
less stress and more social = more stress.

My favorite study would be some kind of own bussiness starting or magnement function I always wanted that but its the opposite of my social anxiety
You need to have some authority.. my own employees would probably make fun of me and walk straight over me because in groups im dead weird.

I also can get my degree and after that go to university and become some researcher ( but im horrible at math etc.) and you probably would give lectures and present your work and make connections with the other scientist.. nightmare

Then I go the last thing and that ICT I could become software egineer or application maker, a big positive of this world is there are more people in this field who have not so good socially skills... in that part I wouldn''t feel so alone ( in other fields more socially people who make me depressed, it reminds me of my social anxiety disorder and I would be more of an outcast).

Its difficult because today every high education level /work ask good communication skills and work with people on project on your job ( I just want to work by my self, can't work when someone is watching behind my shoulders)

How do you deal with this and what is your job or education ?
It wouldn''t suprise me if a large % of people with SA work in the ICT world
or choose to do low paying jobs to absolutly avoid the constant social pressure/anxiety

coyote how did you handle management function ?
I always wonder if my anxiety would be less if I had some leader function.
You need to tell other people what to do and in situations
when I had to order people what to do I felt more comfortable and in control
because I know what to expect+ some extra sense of power over other people, love that.. but thats probably only one-one
and if you work in company these days you gather in groups and then tell everybody
what to do... so that makes the situation a little bit more difficult.

these working enviroments are not good for us sa people , you either get depressed or are anxious all the time and both is a struggle everyday.

^i agree that it becomes easier when there is a set structure to follow

however, people are not Lego bricks - so no matter how good your design, they won't always fit together the way you want them to

a leader must have the ability to relate to people to make an organization run smoothly

but what's nice in a structured environment is that you can maintain a good professional relationship with your workers while at the same time keeping your personal distance - you're not expected to socialize; in fact, it's discouraged
