What is YOUR dream in life?

Everyone has a dream..what is your dream?

...Something that you hold on to through the difficult days...some ray of hope in the future...some vision that you see yourself in 5 to 10.. maybe even 20 years from now?

Its my belief that people with anxiety and especially social anxiety have even stronger dreams to soften the pain of everyday life.

Let us know what YOUR dream is for the future? What is that one thought or dream that gets you by day to day?

I will start with mine..

Its quite simple - I want a farm. I find peace with animals and nature. I was born in the city, but was never made for the city life. I've always been a hard worker, so I would love the simplicity of manual labor and seeing the actual result of your work. Gardening for you own food..cutting wood for your own warmth..that kind if thing. The more animals the better...the more trees and lakes and rivers the better.. Simplicity and beauty at its finest.

Now its your turn :D

That's odd because just today I was thinking that I wanted to live on a farm. That'd be the perfect job for an SA sufferer. I also noticed that my uncle, who owns a farm probably has SA.

Peace, nature, a cat, and a nice understanding significant other. I also dream of being a professional punter, that is betting on horse races for a living. That portion of the dream is taking shape nicely, after lots of work, keep your fingers crossed.

nice dream.

Interesting dream.. A farm is a lot of hard work. But good luck and i hope your dreams and goals become reality.

As far as my dreams, I don't have any anymore... I used to, but I just don't see the point anymore.. Cause it seems no matter what I set out to do, i fail at it anyway.

So i don't have much faith in goals or dreams anymore, cause no matter how hard I might work at them, I never even come close to succeeding.

Interesting - There's a bit of a trend going here!
My dream is to get a piece of land big enough to have a couple of horses and a few other animals, like alpacas.

The other one is to maybe play lead guitar in a rock band.

The first I know I can achieve. The second - well, I'd need to play the guitar outside of my beadroom, so I'm not sure how far I'll get there. :?

My dream is to have happiness in my life, without the anxiety. I do want success but I don't need to be filthy rich. Just getting by, owning my own place and finding som1 that I enjoy my time with.

if only dreams came tru

Someone once told me - The day you give up on your dreams is the day you die.

Thanks for the kind words pjam, hope one day you too can realize and succeed in whatever you desire.

Interesting dreams...hopefully they all come true..its just a matter of how much you want it....think Rudy

I had many dreams. It sounds childish but I really wanted this for the longest time, I was going to work at nasa or any of the contract companies that work for them like lokheed martin. I was going to help design a space shuttle or moon colony or space station or something like that. at some point I even wanted to be an astronaut. or an astronomer.
I was once told by someone that the only reason I wanted to be an astronaut was to get away from this world and all human beings. maybe that's true, don't know.....
all those dreams went out the window after I graduated from college and got a taste of what real life is like. but I still hold on to the dream of studying astronomy and one day working as an astronomer doing research and discovering new things. I don't know if I will ever make it, I definetely don't have the confidence to believe I could become a PhD and a leading scientist.....

Hey me too styrka :D

I want to design things for NASA or some military. I've always liked to build things.

styrka you don't have to be smart to be an engineer. engineering probably does require a little talent but it's like a game.. even chidren can understand... unlike math and science.. and you can be really creative with it.. :D

I hope every1 get their dreams realized

While it's great to have dreams and goals... You should at least go in with a level playing field..

Yeah as a kid, many people are told anything is possible... But as we get older, that's not true at all.. Sometimes our eyes, ears, nose, lets, arms will limit our opportunities. Sometimes we just aren't smart enough or we dont' have as much talent as people may have once told us. It's life...

If you want to go into engineering, that is great.. But you have to also realize, Engineering and Math go hand in hand. While you aren't a statitician or mathmatician or physician, you are an engineer. And engineering involves so many formulas, algorithms, analysis, and so on, no matter what engineering field you get into.

So if you hate math, you probably won't like engineering or won't exactly get close to your goal or dream.

It's one thing if you fear public speaking and want to become a politician. There are ways to improve and overcome.. But if you hate dealing with people, hate catering to both sides of the story, hate giving speeches, then you probably won't like being a politician.

Same goes for engineering.. Maybe math isn't your favorite or best subject but you can deal with it...There are ways to improve, ways to learn and ways to become good at it in your own way.. But if you hate math so much that you avoid it at all costs, engineering probably isn't something you should get into...

Goals and dreams are great... But as we get older, we change our goals and dreams because the fact is, sometimes we realize something we might have once loved, isn't exactly the thing we ever thought it was.

That's basically my dream. I wasn't made for the city life either. I get too paranoid and uncomfortable. I want the same as you do, but also with a nice treehouse :)

You call this anxiety prison life ?????? :?

When I'll start living there won't be need for dreaming, until then, I think dreaming is something to do when u want to escape from it all. I actually don't have a dream at all.

I had as a kid, I had many dreams, and my dreams was about my future carrier. My first dream was to become a pilot cause I love speed and why not, planes and that stuff. Then as I grew older I found my calling - a painter, drawer or anything that has art involved. This still is a calling. When I grew older, at about 14-15 years old, girls took part in all my dreams.

Now i'm empty of dreams. Learning more and more about SP made me wonder about dreaming. I thought a dream was something witch can be achieved in the future if you try hard enough. I was wrong.

Maybe my only ''dream'' now is to conquer my self-induced brain disease cause that is the only thing holding me back. I have prooved to myself that I have the skills required to succed in life. 8)

I want happiness, peace of mind, and love.

I am a friend that I love so much and it is a great feeling. Love is very important to me. I am on my way to happiness. And peace of mind is something that everyone strives for.. that is also very important to me.

As far as what I want that is tangible... a good job that pays good money. (Duh) Lot's of animals to love.

That's about it.

There are a couple of things that I want to do....

1. Paint and sell a lot of paintings and preferably make a decent enough living off of this

2. Beat social anxiety and come back to help those going through it

3. Do something good for people going through hardship

4. Win the Archibald prize and any other prize for portraiture

5. Travel to exotic, culture-filled places around the world, like Morrocco, Italy, France, Brazil and South America, Japan, Africa, Tibet, India, Israel, Egypt and around Australia

6. Be involved in some adventure-filled project like restoration of an humanitarian nature, environmental nature or the restoration of some artistic cultural building, monument etc

6. Possibly get married some day (although I seem to care less and less about such a thing the older I get)
