What are your experiences with participating in psychology studies

I saw an ad in the newspaper for social anxiety. Is it safe to call and see if i qualify for the study?

Sure. Doesn't hurt to call and get information. Although be careful if it involves medication. Make sure you know what you're getting yourself into.......but, worth a phone call.

I imagine they all involve medication. I participated in one for the Pharmaceutical Research Institute. I am sureI received the placebo because it did nothing for me and there were no side effects. I was paid for the miles and the time it took to take tests and answer questions. It's unlikely that you will get much benefit personally but someone has to help researchers so we can have a better medication for this wretched disease. You should at least check it out.
