Volunteering

I just contacted an organization about doing some volunteer work and am waiting to hear back. This is a good start, I think. I'm still looking through job listings, but I think that I will be better off sticking with part time work because I know that I need to get help. If I work full time, I probably won't be able to have time for counseling or support groups, which I realize I still need. Until I find a job, volunteering will help me get out of the house and be with people. I just can't let myself get into some kind of funk where I spend too much time alone because that makes socializing that much harder later on.

what specifically did you choose to volunteer for? I was interested in doing this but had trouble coming up with ideas

I'm hoping to volunteer at a nearby shelter. They have different volunteer positions. I chose a few from their list (food pantry sorting, clothing sorting, helping at the front desk, and helping in the mail room).
