Video blogs on youtube

How come I look at video blogs of social anxiety sufferers on youtube and they can talk confidently on them? I could never do that because I hate hearing my own voice. The same goes to people who do voice chats on msn, I tried once but I couldn't speak, I froze because I felt so awkward.

I don't think that they feel comfortable doing it. They just do it. :)

Also, talking to a cam is easier because you remain in control. If you don't like what's been recorded you can delete and make another try.

Actually, whenever I google or youtube (that's right, folks they're verbs now) "social anxiety" I always get results with weird depressed and/or psychotic people who stutter constantly while attempting to make their interpretations of what somebody might eventually call a 'video'. And I consider myself a dick for laughing out loud, but I can't help it. Seriously though. It doesn't make sense to me. I'm socially (or just generally) anxious in certain situations. I even feel like it's a disorder at times. But come on! I think these people are just faking the whole goth/emo/depressed/whatever thing for show.

I dont think they do it for attention, cos most of the social phobic youtubers have few subscribers (the most around 500 i guess), and if they do it for attention, it doesnt work. Plus i dont get why someone would use *this* when there are lots of much popular topics to be used to attract attention.

I love watching vlogs btw, it helps me know people more (since theres no other way i can), and realize we are not all that different.

A collection of some vlogs, great video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5M5qk1E-4z4
