I've noticed a lot of people on the forum have pets/like animals so this might be of interest to people.
A few states in Africa are trying to get the UN to lift the ban on elephant hunting for the purposes of selling their Ivory, and the fear is that this, coupled with the existing illegal trade could wipe out most of the elephant population.
So it's a petition to the UN to extend the current ban for 20 more years, a number of African states have already signed up to it. Here's the link, it takes like 2 seconds to sign up with just your name and email.
