The Long Journey (Poem)

A stale starless night overhead
My heart is being engulfed by dread
As I walk barefoot along the gravel
I do not know which way to travel
Aimlessly I wander around
Hoping for my path to be found
Somewhere along the way I got lost
Complete lethargy is now the cost
No stars or signs in which to guide
No shelter seen in which to hide
Despair consumes me, just like the night
Apathy swallows me, stealing my fright
A dark barren desert I'm wandering through
Which way to home, I haven't a clue
A ghostly wind echoes in my ears
The lonely night heightens my fears
I can not remember my destination
As I desperately pray for salvation
My departure point I do recall
But the end of my journey, I don't know at all
I'm lost in a desert, morose and dark
I don't know the way from which I embarked
My journey continues as I search for my way
It will only be found with the dawn of the day

A poetic metaphor for our stuggle with sp - i love it. Again i reiterate - so much talent - an abundance of it. :D

 Thanks, it's one I wrote quite awhile ago. I think when I wrote it I had a vision of being surrounded by blackness. Perhaps one day some creative talent might flow through me again and I can write something new.
