Sweating has increased after Iontophoresis!

I'm trying to stop palm sweating. I watched the youtube video and made my own iontophoresis by connecting 3 6V batteries. I've done 5 sessions of 20 minutes each and my sweating has increased to the point where my armpits are sweating a lot (they don't sweat usually)....My palms are drenching in sweat and it's really annoying. Any advice/suggestions??? This really sucks.

@Sprawling- thanks I will. I really need my palms to stop sweating in 9 days. Is that possible? I'm willing to do however many sessions as needed.

It's a pretty common occurence. Take it as a good sign that something is happening.

Your goal of 9 days is a bit ambitious if you'd ask me but it's different for everyone. I personally actually disregarded ionto at first cause after the first time I did the 10 days from the book I had the same experience as you...if anything more sweating and rough skin with cuts.

It was about a year later that I just gave it another all out try and my hands were finally bonedry after 3 weeks.

Two tips you may or may not know:

1)Make sure your hands are completely covered by the water, otherwise the sides and top part of the fingers will still sweat and give that uncomfortable moist overall feel.

2)The 'plus pole' (electro afficionades are going to take fault with that name but lets keep it simple) does the most damage in terms of getting the skin dry so if hands are your focus you can maximize the time the hands are on + (I do both hands in one tray and feet in a bucket).

hey guys the sweating still hasn't decreased...i'm getting kinda worried. I've been doing 2 20 minute sessions everyday with small amount of baking soda included in the aluminum tray with no results yet. It has been about 3-4 days

3-4 days is still not enough time. 7-10 days on average, yet everyone is different. For some people it may take 8-12 WEEKS or more.

I've had results in a few days, but that may be atypical for most. I'm not sure what everyone else is doing, but I would think that session length, amount of voltage, and conductivity of the water bath play a big part in the effectiveness of Ionto.

I'm defining a session as the time I start applying current to my body, plus switching polarity, and running until I am no longer applying current to my body.
So what I do is run my Ionto on one polarity for 15 to 30 minutes, then switch polarity and then do it for another 15 to 30 minutes. In this respect, my treatment (or session) will range anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour.

The voltage will be between 14-19. The current is roughly 1.5 milli amps.

I've increased the amount of baking soda and salt in my water bath and feel I get better results. My measurements aren't exact, but I would say I use a combined measurement of about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of baking soda and salt per 4 cups of water. The itchy/stinging feeling can get pretty uncomfortable after I reverse the polarity. That's always the worst part, but being able to control the HH is much more important to me than feeling uncomfortable for my 30 to 60 minute session.

My ionto kit states certain times and days to carry out the treatments and not to add more sessions, it gives very strict instructions to stick to this information. From my personal experience, doing too many sessions doesn't help. I also experience more sweating before it gets better, this was very annoying for me but worth it in the end. Hope this helps!

What are they?

Most of those ionto instructions space out treatments way to far apart. 7-14 days every day total of 40mins to an hour session is perfectly safe.

For those of you curious as to viewing those printed treatment schedules try going to either the Drionic website or the RA Fischer website.

oh............I did it all wrong then. I created my own and did it for 30min for two weeks. Helped for a day or two and then my sweating went back to normal.

I agree with Sprawling on his past two posts. With iontophoresis machines, you can't be sure what their company's test sample size was on their patients. On this forum, you have lots of people who can be anonymous and very candid without fear of embarrassment on their condition or anything else. They post lots of information regarding the severity of their HH, their experiences (both successes and failures on controlling it), and what it took to achieve successful results.

Granted some people are just trying to sell products on here or will post unreliable information, but for the most part those people will either be called out on it, or someone will at least state that the results achieved were not typical.

The 12 volts you are using is likely not strong enough. Also be sure to check the cables that you have since rust will limit the current passing through them. I had to get rid of cables that I had since water eventually rusted the wire. I wasn't getting the necessary current and since replacing them, I'm getting much better results :perfect:
