Ssri vs snri

Switching to SNRI won't necessarily guarantee good anxiety relief.

I've tried Lexapro & Prozac which didn't do much for my anxiety and paranoia.
I'm now on Effexor which is an SNRI. Been on this 7 months and up to 225mg dose - has it really helped? to be honest its difficult to say. I believe it has helped my anxiety a bit, there were some really remarkable changes early on, I felt truly normal without any anxiety for a short while but for some reason this dissappeared and now i'm just really "meh".

Side effects for me currently at a stable dose are insomnia, poor concerntration & memory, tiredness, can't really be bothered to do anything etc..
But as you probably already understand, everyone has a different response to phsychiatric medications.

Good luck whatever you decide.
ps, here is a pretty good site which may give you deeper insight into antidepressants and the like Crazy Meds! The Good, The Bad & The Funny of Neurological Medications
