what tools do you use when you need an extra bout of emotional strength, whether to feel better or overcome fear? Mainly to overcome fear.
 
Good question. Hmmm...remembering past successes; thinking ahead to the future beyond the current fear; physically/mentally relaxing - fear tenses the body & mind; getting outside, especially in the bush or other natural setting; music; talking/writing it out; doing stuff - I go into a cleaning/tidying frenzy when I worry excessively.
 
I turn to logic and try to put emotions aside entirely. I try to understand and practically visualize the universe as being the center of existence, rather then planet Earth. It makes me realize how insignificant the problem I face is, and therefore that the outcome doesn't matter in essence. I merely do the best I can in the circumstances I'm dealt, take the (thing thing that makes me feel) good, and (try) to ignore the (thing that makes me feel) bad.
